PERSONALISED HAIR TREATMENT GUIDE

Best treatment for dry, frizzy or coloured hair

There is no single treatment that is best for every person. Dryness, frizz, colour history, curl pattern, hair strength and the finish you want all matter. This guide explains the main differences so you can arrive at your consultation with a clearer idea of what to discuss.

01

Start with your biggest concern

If the hair mainly feels dry, rough and dull, start by discussing Hair Botox or another conditioning-focused service. If the main frustration is frizz and time-consuming styling, standard or Brazilian keratin may be more relevant. If the goal is substantially straighter hair, Nanoplastia or permanent straightening may enter the conversation.

The strongest treatment is not automatically the best treatment. A service should match both the desired finish and what the hair can safely tolerate.

  • Dryness and roughness: prioritise condition and softness.
  • Frizz and puffiness: compare keratin and Brazilian keratin.
  • Significant straightening: discuss Nanoplastia or permanent straightening.
02

Extra care for coloured or bleached hair

Colour history can change the recommendation. Permanent colour, highlights, balayage, bleach, box dye and previous smoothing services all affect porosity and strength. Recently bleached or compromised hair may not be suitable for stronger chemical straightening.

Hair Botox or a gentler smoothing option may be considered for some coloured hair, but this still requires assessment. Tell your stylist exactly what has been applied, even if it was months ago or done at another salon.

  • Bring an accurate colour and chemical history.
  • Do not hide previous box dye, bleach, relaxers or straightening.
  • Accept a gentler plan if the hair condition makes a stronger service unsuitable.
03

How to prepare for a useful consultation

Bring two or three realistic inspiration photos and explain what you dislike about your current hair. Be specific about whether you want to keep curls, retain waves, reduce volume, shorten styling time or achieve a straight finish.

Ask about likely movement, aftercare, washing instructions, colour timing and maintenance. A professional recommendation should explain both what the service can help with and what it cannot guarantee.

HELPFUL ANSWERS

Best treatment for dry, frizzy or coloured hair frequently asked questions.

What is best for dry hair that I do not want straightened?

Hair Botox is usually the first option to discuss because its main focus is conditioning, softness and shine rather than maximum straightening.

What is best for frizzy wavy hair?

Standard keratin may suit clients who want smoother hair while keeping more movement. Brazilian keratin may be considered when stronger frizz control is preferred.

What is best for coloured or highlighted hair?

There is no automatic answer. The stylist needs to assess strength, elasticity, porosity and recent chemical history before recommending a treatment.

Should I choose the longest-lasting treatment?

Not necessarily. The best treatment is the one that matches your desired finish and current hair condition without choosing unnecessary strength.
