Why colour history changes the keratin recommendation
Two clients with the same visible colour can have very different hair underneath. Professionally coloured brunette hair, heavily highlighted hair, repeated home bleach and vivid direct dye all respond differently to cleansing, product application and heat.
A useful consultation considers what was applied, when it was applied, how often the hair has been lightened and whether keratin, Nanoplastia, relaxer or permanent straightening has been used before. This history helps the stylist avoid stacking incompatible or unnecessarily strong services.

Bleached hair needs a strength and elasticity check
Bleach can leave some areas more porous or fragile than others, particularly through repeated highlights and lightened ends. Hair that stretches excessively, snaps easily or feels weak when wet may not be ready for a heat-sealed smoothing service.
This does not mean every blonde client must avoid keratin. It means suitability and processing cannot be decided from hair colour alone. We may adjust the direction, recommend conditioning support first or decline a stronger service when the condition makes it unsuitable.
Keratin can sometimes shift toner or vivid colour
Clarifying preparation, the selected formula and heat can sometimes make coloured hair look warmer, lighter or less vivid. Fresh toner, pastel shades and bright colours such as blue, purple or red may be particularly noticeable if a shift occurs.
No responsible salon should promise that every shade will remain identical. Tell the stylist which colour matters most to you so the smoothing and colour schedule can be planned together.

Standard keratin, Brazilian keratin or Hair Botox?

Hair Botox focuses more on softness, shine and manageability when conditioning is the main goal rather than maximum smoothing.
The strongest result is not automatically the best choice for coloured hair. The most suitable service is the one that matches the desired finish while respecting the hair condition in front of the stylist.
Plan colour and smoothing as one service journey
Advice about whether colour should be completed before or after keratin can vary with the colour service and product system. Root colour, toner, vivid dye and bleach are not interchangeable. Follow a personalised timeline rather than a universal online rule.
